A Better Approach to Achieving Your Goals
How many people out there achieve true financial independence? Most people aspire to that, but sadly, few achieve it…even those with very high incomes.
That’s where a lot of financial advice falls short. Most financial advisors don’t provide the continuous proactive service you need to actually achieve your goals. Or they don’t have the years of experience to do it right.
Securing your financial future is not impossible. It simply requires hard work, intense analysis and planning, and smart strategies. Over the years, we’ve helped many people and families work toward and achieve that level of financial confidence. We’ve taken what we know and fine-tuned it into a unique, comprehensive system. We call this system the McGervey Method™.
The McGervey Method™ helps ensure we address all parts of your financial life proactively and comprehensively. Is it easy? No. Our team acts as investigators, looking for hidden blind spots and vulnerabilities before these things have the opportunity to knock you off course. We’ll dig deeply into all aspects of your financial life to find the best strategies to increase your wealth and save you money. These include tax strategies to reduce what you owe, cash flow optimization, estate planning to pass on your wealth efficiently, and many business-savvy strategies to help you optimize your finances if you’re a business owner.
At McGervey, we don’t outsource your investments to third parties, either. Instead, you will be working directly with our in-house investment managers. That ensures that your investments are tailored specifically to your needs, and not simply model portfolios that may, or may not, be right for you. Then, investment decisions are also handled by our investment committee to help ensure well-reasoned, disciplined execution.
One warning: this does require your commitment to the process. It also requires some soul searching and honesty at times, as we address things like counterproductive spending habits that might keep you from achieving your goals. But as you can imagine, the payoff is significant: you can trade financial stress for financial confidence.
“The more comfortable our clients want to be, the less comfortable we can be. It’s hard work, but we love helping you achieve your big financial goals.”

Answering the Big Questions
Our customized process does involve considerable thought up front. After all, if you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there? Then, we’ll work to analyze your situation along with potential strategies and solutions. We’ll work with you on several fronts:
This is about much more than just financial goals. During this part of the process, we seek to understand what’s most important to you and your family. We’ll discuss where you stand today and how you would like your future to look. We will work with you to understand your true risk tolerance, too. Once this phase is done, you’ll feel clear about what you want your future to look like.
Once your goals are clear, we’ll start digging into the details. We’ll study your income sources, assets, liabilities, personal cash flow, taxes, and more. We’ll work with you to determine if your goals are consistent with your ability to tolerate risk. All of this helps us design a wealth plan that most efficiently takes you from where you are to where you want to be. Once this phase is done, you’ll feel a lot more organized.
Here is where your goals are translated into clear action steps. Before any decisions are made, we help you to understand everything that has gone into your plan. We’ll also stress-test that plan under a variety of conditions. That will give you a glimpse of what impact certain events (like a severe market correction) could have on your life. We’ll take your feedback and use it to fine-tune your plan and investment allocations. Once this phase is complete, you’ll understand the road map ahead.
Your plan and strategies are not set in stone. Instead, it is a living document that will evolve alongside you. A key to turning the plan into action is momentum, so we’ll keep in regular contact with you to keep your motivation up. Check-ins can be done by phone, email, virtual conference, or in-person, whatever you prefer. These regular touch points keep you moving toward your goals. Adjustments will be made when the inevitable obstacles occur. As importantly, we’ll be there to help celebrate your accomplishments along the way, and these check-ins will keep you motivated for the next milestone.
